Once you book delivery companies from Tabs, the bookings are spread across orders, transfers and reseller orders. To find out how things are going you would have to open each one in turn.
The Deliveries page puts them in one list: every delivery you have booked with a delivery company, whatever it carries and whoever is carrying it. From there you see where each one is, which ones need you, cancel one before it is picked up, or send one to Tabs support, without going back through its order. Each delivery still links to what it carries.
Deliveries are booked with a delivery company paid in TABS credits. Booking itself is covered under booking a delivery company. A rider of your own, saved on the Couriers page, isn't a booking and doesn't appear here.
The four tabs
The page opens on On the road. The four tiles at the top work as tabs, and each shows how many deliveries it holds.
| Tab | What it holds |
|---|---|
| On the road | Deliveries that are finding a rider, have a rider assigned, or have been picked up |
| Needs attention | Deliveries that failed or have stopped moving. See Needs attention |
| Delivered | Deliveries that arrived. A transfer says Arrived |
| Cancelled | Deliveries cancelled before pickup |
A tab with nothing in it says so. Under Needs attention the empty note reads "A delivery that fails, or stops moving for too long, shows here so you can chase it." Show all lists every delivery whatever its status, and All companies clears the company filter.
What each row shows
| Column | What it is |
|---|---|
| Status | Finding a rider, Rider assigned, Picked up, Delivered (or Arrived for a transfer), Didn't arrive or Cancelled |
| Tracking code | The company's code for the delivery |
| Carries | The order, transfer or reseller order it carries, and who it is going to. Opens it |
| Company | The delivery company |
| Last moved | How long since its status last changed |
| Heads-up | Why it needs you, if it does, and Reported to support once you have sent it there |
On a phone the same details are joined on one line.
Finding one
- Search by tracking code or number.
- Filter by Company, by what it Carries (an order, a transfer or a reseller order), by Store when you have more than one, and by the date it was Booked.
One delivery
Click a row to open its panel at the side. It shows:
- Delivery company and the tracking code, with Copy link for the tracking page you can send the customer and Track to open it. The link is for the customer.
- What it carries, with who it is for. Opens the order, transfer or reseller order.
- Rider, once one is assigned.
- What happened, the timeline. It shows the main moments, and Show everything lists every line, including a status change that carried no news. Show less folds it back.
- Cancel delivery and Contact support.
The timeline's steps run Booked, Rider, Picked up and Delivered (Arrived for a transfer). Its lines include "Booked with" the company, "Details updated", "Cancel asked for" and "Sent to support".
Needs attention
A delivery needs attention when it has failed, or when it has stopped moving: its status hasn't changed for 2 hours while it is still finding a rider or waiting for pickup, or for 24 hours once it has been picked up. Tabs checks this itself, and the delivery moves to the Needs attention tab.
The row says Failed, or "Not moving for" and how long: hours, or days once it passes 48 hours. The sidebar link for Deliveries also shows how many need attention.
What to do with one: open it and call the rider from the panel, or press Contact support. If it hasn't been picked up yet, you can cancel it.
Cancelling a delivery
You can cancel while the delivery is Finding a rider or has a Rider assigned. Once it is picked up, or has finished, Tabs refuses, and the panel points you to support.
- Open the delivery and press Cancel delivery. The button only shows while Tabs can cancel it.
- The box asks Cancel this delivery? and says the company won't send a rider and that the credits it took come back to you.
- Say Why?. It is optional, unless the delivery company asks for a reason.
- Press Cancel delivery, or Keep delivery to leave it. Tabs says "Delivery cancelled".
The credits come back when the company reports the delivery cancelled and nothing was ever collected. They come back once, as one entry in your credits, and the order's delivery fee comes off the order. After pickup nothing is returned by itself. Take it to support.
Some delivery companies don't cancel from Tabs. For those there is no Cancel delivery button, and the panel says "This delivery company doesn't cancel from Tabs. Contact support to have it cancelled." If the company can't cancel at that moment, Tabs says to try again shortly or to contact support.
Contacting support
Contact support is always on the panel. It tells the Tabs team about a delivery that is going wrong, and arrives as a Report an issue, with the delivery attached.
- Press Contact support.
- Pick what's wrong:
- Not moving - Late - Damaged - Wrong address - Problem with the rider - Please cancel, offered only when you can't cancel it yourself - Something else
- Under What happened, add a note. It is required for Something else.
- Press Send. Tabs says "Sent to support".
The delivery then shows "Sent to support" with the reason, and Reported to support on its row. The timeline records it. You can send up to 5 reports an hour; after that Tabs asks you to try again later.
A worked example
Three deliveries are out. At 3pm the page shows On the road 2 and Needs attention 1.
The one needing attention was booked at 9am today and is still Finding a rider. It reads "Not moving for 6h". You open it, press Cancel delivery, write "No rider all morning" and confirm. The credits come back, the delivery moves to Cancelled, and you book again from the order.
Another has been Picked up for a day and reads "Not moving for 25h". It can't be cancelled now. You press Contact support, pick Not moving, add "Rider isn't answering" and press Send. It shows Reported to support while the team looks into it.
Who can do what
There is no permission of its own for Deliveries. You see the deliveries of what your role can already view, and act on those you can book.
| Step | What it needs |
|---|---|
| See the Deliveries page | Viewing orders, viewing transfers or viewing reseller orders. Any one of them |
| See a delivery | Viewing what it carries |
| Cancel a delivery | The permission that books it: Book deliveries with a delivery company for orders, Book a delivery company for transfers for transfers |
| Contact support about a delivery | Viewing what it carries |
A member who works in one store sees the deliveries that store carries, and cancels only the transfers their store sends. A delivery you can't see isn't found.
Booking permissions are set under roles. Credits are covered in account and billing.
